Projex Solutions was proud to support the inaugural New Halifax 10K, delivered by Halifax Harriers. Despite tough conditions on the day, with heavy rain and strong winds, the event attracted an impressive turnout and created a brilliant atmosphere across the route.

With 785 finishers and strong community support throughout, the event proved to be a huge success for its first year. Runners of all levels took part, from experienced athletes pushing for sub 30-minute times to those simply aiming to complete the course in one piece and enjoy the experience.

Taking part in the race

Our Managing Director, Jamie Ashton, took on the challenge himself, running alongside friends, including Toby Underwood an experienced Ironman and member of Trilab Studio finishing in 41:08, and Kevin Harrop, a former Royal Navy Engineer. Jamie completed his first ever 10K in an amazing time of 51 minutes.

The course itself was relatively flat for the Calderdale area, making it accessible while still offering a challenge. Closed roads allowed runners to move freely, and the route provided a great balance between performance and enjoyment.

Projex Solutions were pleased to be supporting this event alongside other local sponsors, including Franklyns Jewellers and Goldsmiths Ltd, Lattitude7, ABS, DD Porter, KTH Engineering Group, Black Horse Grassington, Holmeward Car Sales and Service Bay, Rosehill Group, Sheard Packaging, Portfolio Display Ltd, and Develop.

A strong community event

One of the standout elements of the day was the level of community support. Spectators lined parts of the route, volunteers and marshals ensured everything ran smoothly, and water stations were set up to support runners along the way.

Even in poor weather, the atmosphere remained positive. Families, local residents, and supporters came out to cheer runners on, creating a real sense of local pride and involvement.
Organisation and delivery

Halifax Harriers delivered a well organised event from start to finish. Registration, race setup, and on the day logistics were handled efficiently, with clear signage, structured start areas, and strong volunteer support.

The scale of the event, combined with the quality of delivery, reflects the effort and planning that went into bringing the race to life.

Looking ahead

Supporting the New Halifax 10K reflects our commitment to community, wellbeing, and promoting active lifestyles. Events like this bring people together and create lasting impact beyond race day.

We are already looking ahead to the Calderdale Way Relay, where we will continue our involvement and explore new ways to engage with participants and the wider community.

Congratulations to Halifax Harriers and everyone involved in delivering such a successful inaugural event. We look forward to seeing it grow in the years ahead.
